In your role as R&D Project Leader you will liaise closely with Business Development and Production/Logistics representatives, as well as the Management Team to align the project’ progress.

We are expecting to start 2-3 new projects within a close time-frame. Therefor we are looking to employ people with a varying technical background/expertise, ranging from polymer chemistry, to mechanical or process engineering, with experience or affinity in project management.

Who we are looking for

For the role of R&D project leader we seek an experienced researcher or engineer with a strong background in chemistry (organic, polymer, analytical) or process/mechanical engineering. You should thrive in laboratory and (pilot) production environments and be an independent researcher with excellent knowledge-sharing skills. Key qualifications include:

  • Education: Academic working and thinking level in a field of chemistry (organic, polymer, analytical), or process/mechanical engineering. Hands-on experience with polymers/polyesters, and/or (fiber-)composites is a huge pre.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in a relevant laboratory setting; experience in project management is required (preferable managing multiple stakeholders and FTE’s). Recent PhD graduates with relevant expertise are welcome to apply.
  • Technical skills: In depth knowledge of relevant analysis techniques are required. For example in the domain of polymer chemistry: g. rheology, IR, NMR, DSC. Or in the domain of materials science e.g. (advanced) mechanical analysis of polymer composites. Or in the domain of chemical engineering e.g. a good understanding of heat and mass transfer phenomena.
  • Passion for sustainability: A strong commitment to working on renewable materials and sustainable solutions.

When will your role be a success?

Your contributions will be found back in effective & result-oriented team leadership, during which technology development will be scaled and implemented towards production with our strategic partners.
